Brief description of the organisation's work:
Oakleaf Enterprise, is an independent registered charity whose purpose is to support people with mental or physical difficulties by: Offering a range of occupational activities which encourage the development of interpersonal, practical and academic skills, leading to increased confidence and the potential to acquire and sustain employment. Additionally, we provide advice and support for those who are ready to access further educational opportunities and/or work placement training. This is achieved through the provision of training leading to a number of qualifications in the following areas:
Information Technology application based training - Qualifications offered - C.L.A.I.T. Computer Literacy And Information Technology & I.B.T.2 Integrated Business Technology 2
Reception, General Office/admin. based skills
Upholstery - Qualification offered - National Certificate in Upholstery
Packing, Carpentry
Basic Catering - Qualification offered - Food Hygiene and Handling Certificate
Horticulture/Garden Maintenance - Qualification offered - NVQ levels 1 and 2
The transitional stage of moving back into the work environment or further education is supported by the Client Empowerment Officer, on a one to one basis covering all aspects of employment application procedures. This entails C.V. compilation, interview techniques, personal presentation etc. Ongoing support is provided whilst clients undertake work placements within the community with a number of supportive employers.
