A young lady on Incapacity Benefit was looking for a gradual return to paid employment. We helped set up a work experience placement which in turn encouraged her to apply successfully for part time employment.

2

A lady who had not been at work for a number of years decided that she would like to go back to clerical-type work. She needed to update her IT skills, so we arranged for her to access a suitable course. As she was nearing the end of her training we looked for work experience and placed her with a local company. She has now applied for a part time job within the same organisation.

3

A young man had left his last job suffering from stress and depression. He wanted to return to work as he was bored at home. During his initial interview. we discussed the aspects of his previous job that he found stressful and led to his becoming unemployed. He explained that he felt well enough to return to a less stressful part-time job in the local area. We helped him search for suitable vacancies, he made an application and was offered an interview. Before the interview we gave advice on interview techniques, and as a result of the interview the man was offered the job. We were also able to suggest that he applied for Disabled Person’s Tax Credit to increase his net income.
